Collectors first. Business second.
From a 12-year-old collector to an LLC — the real story behind X-pedition Unknown.
X-pedition Unknown started with a little nostalgia, a few old cards, and a love for the hunt.
I first got into collecting when I was around 12 years old, collecting Pokémon and Dragon Ball Z trading cards. Like a lot of people, life moved on, and eventually I stepped away from the hobby. Years later, after my time in the military, I came across my old cards in storage — and that feeling hit all over again. The memories, the artwork, the excitement of opening packs, and the fun of chasing cards all came rushing back.
When Pokémon released the 151 set, honoring the original Pokémon many of us grew up with, that was what really pulled me back in. At first, I was collecting lightly again, just enjoying the hobby. But as my kids got older, I started sharing it with them too. Some of them definitely took the bait, and before long, collecting became something we could enjoy together.
From there, we started visiting local card shops, exploring different sets, opening packs, and sharing our journey through content. What began with Pokémon slowly expanded into other trading card games like Magic: The Gathering, Digimon, Dragon Ball, and more. The more we explored, the more we fell in love with the community, the artwork, and the adventure behind every pack.
The idea for X-pedition Unknown came from that same journey. Over time, I ended up with extra cards, and friends started asking me to help find or source cards for them. That made me think bigger. Instead of just collecting, I wanted to build something real — a small business rooted in collecting, community, and helping others enjoy the hobby too.
That is when X-pedition Unknown became official as an LLC.
One of the biggest reasons I wanted to start this business was because of how hard it has become for regular collectors, families, and kids to find cards at fair prices. With scalping becoming such a major issue in the hobby, I wanted to create another option for people who simply want to collect, rip packs, build decks, or enjoy the experience without feeling pushed out.
X-pedition Unknown is more than just selling cards. It is about the hunt, the nostalgia, the community, and helping others discover something fun. I also enjoy giving back when I can, including donating cards and custom packs to local library Pokémon clubs so kids can experience the excitement of opening packs and building their own collections.
Whether you are chasing your favorite Pokémon, building a deck, collecting for nostalgia, or just starting your own trading card journey, I am glad you found us.
Welcome to the X-pedition.
We hunt everything.
Every card is sourced from the field. Every print is inspected before it leaves the vault. Every piece of jewelry is signed off by the expedition crew.
We answer the call.
No help desks. No outsourced support. When you write in, a fellow explorer writes back.
We keep our word.
Lifetime goodwill. If something is wrong, we fix it before you have to ask twice.
We document the expedition.
Pack openings, store hunts, rare pulls, and the moments when our kids lose their minds over a chase card — we put it all on camera. Follow along and see where the expedition takes us next.
